High Desert Chamber Music Launches HDCM Celebrity Recitals!

Pahlisch Homes To Sponsor HDCM Celebrity Recitals!

High Desert Chamber Music (HDCM) is thrilled to welcome Pahlisch Homes to the HDCM family! They are the proud sponsors of our new HDCM Celebrity Recitals series, premiering this month with virtuoso violinist Stefan Jackiw.

“Pahlisch Homes seeks partnerships with non-profit organizations that serve in the areas we build and align with our focus on creating healthy families and vibrant communities. What High Desert Chamber Music accomplishes through its educational outreach programs and concert series is a perfect fit to achieve these goals,” states Jason Myhre, Chief Communications Officer. “We are honored to partner with High Desert Chamber Music and look forward to being a part of the positive impact they are already making in the Central Oregon community.”

Pahlisch Homes, established in 1983 by Bev and Dennis Pahlisch, focuses on building high-quality, community-oriented homes throughout Oregon and Washington. The company emphasizes creating lasting communities that reflect local cultures and values, offering a range of homes suited for various stages of life. The legacy continues under the leadership of the Pahlisch children, maintaining a commitment to thoughtful decision-making and quality craftsmanship. Celebrating over 40 years, Pahlisch Homes prides itself on its integrity, quality, and the creation of supportive, amenity-rich neighborhoods.

“HDCM is proud to be aligned with this esteemed, community-driven company. Please plan to join us for this exciting new launch in July!,” says HDCM Executive Director Isabelle Senger.

Captivating audiences with playing that combines poetry and purity with impeccable technique, Stefan Jackiw is hailed for his playing of “uncommon musical substance” that is “striking for its intelligence and sensitivity” (Boston Globe). This concert will take place on Sunday, July 28, at 4:00 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. Ticket holders may join Stefan for a concert preview at 3:15 pm.

As our wonderfully talented contemporary worship pianist heads off to college, we find ourselves seeking his replacement, to begin mid July if possible. Affirming, fun, inclusive environment. Includes playing for one Sunday service per week and an evening rehearsal every other week.

Foundations Support High Desert Chamber Music Educational Outreach Programs !

High Desert Chamber Music is honored to receive foundation support from the Clark Foundation ($2,500) and the Deschutes Cultural Coalition ($1,500) this year. These funds benefit our educational programming, which is provided at no cost to any students, teachers, or schools in Central Oregon. With our three areas of focus, our goal is to allow young children to experience the highest levels of music performance and cultivate an interest that can lead to a lifelong appreciation and enjoyment of the performing arts.

1) Visits to Local Schools
2) Master Class
3) Spotlight Chamber Players

The Clark Foundation is a private foundation that provides grants to qualified non-profit organizations in Oregon.  Established in 1968 by Maurie Clark, the Foundation continues to be directed by members of the Clark family and other civic or charitable minded individuals intent on supporting the community at large.

The Deschutes Cultural Coalition awards grants to arts and cultural organizations in Deschutes County within the culture field including arts, heritage, and humanities.  Grant funding is sponsored by the Oregon Cultural Trust and Deschutes County and supports projects and activities that address one of the four priorities outlined within the Deschutes Cultural Plan.

“We feel incredibly fortunate to receive support that allows us to present the quantity and quality of our educational outreach," said Executive Director Isabelle Senger. “We take pride in offering extensive and unique programs, and we hope to reach every student who has an interest in what we provide."

High Desert Chamber Music’s mission is to bring world-class chamber music and musicians to Central Oregon. As the premier and leading chamber music organization in the region, HDCM offers an exciting roster of professional performing artists.

Sing with Operabend!

We are always welcoming new local singers to our chorus and recital roster. Even if you’ve never sung opera before, we welcome singers of varying levels and experience.* We just ask that you come with a positive attitude and willingness to learn! Our next opportunity to participate will take place in the fall (specifics to be announced at a later date).

*Please note that the ability to read music is highly preferred, but we do provide ear training resources for part learning.
