Sean Chen is a genius at displaying the virtuosity and versatility of the piano. An award-winning classical pianist (Cliburn International Piano Competition, American Pianists Awards), Chen is also in demand for creative collaborations and commissions. Chen’s musical flexibility is a perfect fit for this event’s emphasis on the uniqueness of blending genres. Currently Artist-in-Residence at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory, he continues to appear in solo and concerto performances throughout the United States and has been featured with the Sunriver Music Festival Orchestra several times.

Arthur Migliazza began playing the piano professionally at the age of 13 and quickly came under the wing of esteemed mentors/teachers such as Henry Butler, Ann Rabson and Mr. B. He has been inducted into the Arizona Blues Hall of Fame, was a finalist at the 2010 and 2014 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN, and in his 30+ years of performing has played on some of the world’s greatest stages, including Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow as part of the sold-out Kings of Boogie Tour, Birdland Jazz Club in New York City, Benaroya Hall in Seattle, as well as on National Public Radio in the US. Arthur was a featured performer at Sunriver Music Festival’s first three Piano Showcase events and his return for this 6th annual is greatly anticipated.

CALL TO ARTISTS
AND
UPCOMING EVENTS!

Sunriver Music Festival invites a Central Oregon artist to create the commemorative 47th season poster.

“For over four decades, Sunriver Music Festival has featured some of the most accomplished painters and photographers in the region. The collaboration is a beautiful experience for all involved,” shares Executive Director Meagan Iverson.

Maria Leistad, 2023 selected poster artist, agrees: “It was an honor to have my art showcased by Sunriver Music Festival for the 46th season. The natural music of this landscape that many of us call home is the perfect backdrop for the Festival’s immensely talented musicians. I hope that “Sunriver’s Trumpeter” conveys the same feelings of tranquility and magnificence that Sunriver Music Festival has come to represent for so many of us.”

Here’s your opportunity to join the ranks of esteemed artists by submitting your artwork to the selection committee, which is comprised of a jury of accomplished artists from the Artists Gallery Sunriver.
