Duo Apaixonado in Final Summer Soirée Today!

Popular Outdoor Concerts Return for a Second Season

High Desert Chamber Music’s popular “Music & Friends” Summer Soirees return this week and will feature a cello-guitar duo in a series of small outdoor concerts at private residences around town.

These intimate, interactive performances will be held outdoors in beautiful Central Oregon settings. As is customary, our “Music & Friends” events include a one set performance (no intermission), light hors d’oeuvres, and wine.

These events will take place in Sunrise Village on July 14. DUO APAIXONADO will make their Central Oregon debut and the program includes a varied program of Brazilian sambas and bossa novas, Argentinian tango, Peruvian waltz, and a Spanish classical work.

As a small non-profit, all proceeds will support our recovery from the economic hardship of COVID, enable our return to our live indoor Concert Series this upcoming season, and support our efforts to provide Educational Outreach programming at no cost to local students, teachers or schools in Central Oregon.

Join the Matching Challenge for High Desert Chamber Music!

Starseed Foundation Awards Grant to HDCM for the Sixth Year in a Row

High Desert Chamber Music has received a matching challenge from the Starseed Foundation for the sixth year in a row. The foundation will match the first $5,000 of funds raised during the challenge. The Starseed Foundation seeks to provide opportunities and exposure to the arts and environment, to improve the quality of life for those in need, and to support social programs that offer cultural and lasting benefit to deserving populations.

In response to this generous opportunity, HDCM has begun a “Starseed Foundation Matching Funds Campaign.” Every contribution will go toward reaching this matching challenge. “We are honored to have the continued belief in, and support of our programs from the Starseed Foundation. We have met this challenge for the past five years, doubling the impact of our generous donors. This challenge coincides with the launch of our second season of Summer Soirees and free Pop-Up Concerts, allowing our donors to support and experience our programs first-hand,” states Executive Director Isabelle Senger. 

HDCM's current 14th season continues with their outdoor summer offerings - Summer Soirees and Pop-Up Concerts! These are high-quality live concerts in the beautiful Central Oregon outdoors, allowing you to experience live classical chamber music in a unique format.

MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED
TO CENTRAL OREGON’S TOP YOUNG MUSICIANS!


Throughout its 27-year history, Sunriver Music Festival’s Young Artists Scholarship program has awarded almost $650,000 in scholarships to 184 exceptional young classical music students from throughout Central Oregon.

This year alone, 14 musicians ages 12-22 were awarded a combined total of $24,100 in scholarships to aid with expenses related to college/music conservatory tuition, private music lessons, or music camp. These vital scholarship funds are raised through the generosity of individual donors and at the annual Festival Faire gala at the Great Hall on July 10th (tickets still available at sunrivermusic.org). A select few of the scholarship recipients will be performing live at Festival Faire this year; don’t miss it!

FESTIVAL FAIRE RETURNS JULY 10th
TO LAUNCH THE
SUNRIVER MUSIC FESTIVAL SUMMER CONCERT SERIES !

At this festive gala, vital funds are raised for the Young Artists Scholarships and Sunriver Music Festival's world-class concerts. Come to the iconic Great Hall at Sunriver Resort at 4:00 on July 10th for a multi-course dinner and drinks, entertainment from fabulous Young Artists Scholarship performers, lively auction, and inspiring stories. High Desert Chamber Music’s popular “Music & Friends” Summer Soirees begin next week and will feature a cello-guitar duo in a series of small outdoor concerts at private residences around town.

These events will take place at locations in Mirror Pond, North Rim, and Sunrise Village between July 12-July 14, and feature a new group to Central Oregon - DUO APAIXONADO. The group displays a wonderful blend of talent presenting their own arrangements of outstanding cello-guitar music and is continually broadening the Latin, Spanish, classical, and contemporary repertoire of the cello and guitar partnership. This program includes a varied program of Brazilian sambas and bossa novas, Argentinian tango, Peruvian waltz, and a Spanish classical work.
