TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE! Central Oregon Symphony Fall Concert Series!  Thank you for your continued support of the Central Oregon Symphony during this season of change. We’re excited to kick off our 2024-2025 season with Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet Suite No. 2 and Brahms’ Symphony No. 1. The Sunday, November 3rd matinee is officially sold out. Get your tickets for the Saturday matinee and evening performances by becoming a Central Oregon Symphony Association member.  See you at the symphony! This season holds unexpected changes as we say goodbye to the Bend Senior High School auditorium, our beloved home for decades, after its sudden demolition in July. Though this marks the end of an era, our passion for sharing music with you remains stronger than ever.  With the loss of our traditional venue, we now have a smaller performance space, which means seating is limited for each concert. Tickets will be online this year, and members must reserve tickets for their preferred concert via Eventbrite. Our Fall concert series takes place on: Saturday, November 2nd | 2 PM Saturday, November 2nd | 7:30 PM Sunday, November 3rd | 2 PM (SOLD OUT!) All concerts will take place at the Caldera High School Auditorium. There is still time to become a member if you have not done so. Thank you to all current symphony members. Jazz Central In Concert!  Jazz Central, Central Oregon’s leading vocal jazz ensemble, is thrilled to announce a special concert event set for Friday, November 15th at 6:00 PM. Cascade Horizon Band The Celebration of America! You are invited to our Fall Concert, The Celebration of America, with a visit to Mexico and Italy! We will present a nostalgic medley of folk songs with American Riversongsand Chorale and Shaker Dance; take you on a trip to the Sea of Cortez with El Arco de los Cabos, and a cable railway ride on Mount Vesuvius with Funiculi, Funicula. You will spot your favorite movie and TV characters in Who’s That Masked Man and clap your hands with our favorite show-stopper Curtain Call. We will salute our veterans with the majestic The Message on the Rock by Robert Sheldon, a Sousa classic, Semper Fidelis, and Jari Villanueva’s all-inclusive Salute to the Armed Forces. ROCK THE HOLIDAYS! with Concert Rock Violinist Aaron Meyer Sunriver Music Festival in collaboration with the Tower Theatre Foundation Concert Rock Violinist Aaron Meyer and band to perform at Sunriver SHARC Benham Hall Saturday, December 7, 2 PM Violinist Aaron Meyer’s “Concert Rock” style of performance blends his classical training with a passion for rock music. Inspired by a fusion of classical and rock, Aaron’s music features arrangements from Vivaldi to Led Zeppelin; Aerosmith to Wieniawski; and Mozart to Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. A student of the violin since age 5, Meyer debuted with the Philadelphia Orchestra by age 11. He later soloed with the Oregon Symphony, the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra in Thailand and many other symphony orchestras. Over the last two decades, Aaron has released 11 albums and is in constant demand on stage. Aaron plays a Benjamin Ruth acoustic violin and a John Jordan 6 string electric violin, with a custom-built pedal board. A Central Oregon fan favorite, Sunriver Music Festival has been presenting Concert Rock Violinist Aaron Meyer and band in concert since the mid 1990s. High Desert Chamber Music Receives Operating Support Grant from the Oregon Arts Commission!  High Desert Chamber Music has been awarded a grant from the Oregon Arts Commission for $4,110 toward general operating support. The Oregon Arts Commission established the Operating Support Program to contribute to the core operations of Oregon’s arts organizations that offer ongoing, sustained, artistic programming and outreach programs in the community. “Operating support is crucial to organizations as these funds can be used at their discretion to sustain artistic programming," said Arts Commission Chair Subashini Ganesan-Forbes. “Grant recipients (and their peers) also see this grant as a sign of our trust in their vision, capacity and importance to the Oregon arts ecosystem." The Arts Commission is supported with general funds appropriated by the Oregon legislature and with federal funds from the National Endowment for the Arts as well as funds from the Oregon Cultural Trust.
