PIANO SHOWCASE AT THE TOWER ON MARCH 16 !

Tickets are on sale now for Piano Showcase at the Tower on March 16. Featuring acclaimed classical pianist Sean Chen and boogie-woogie pianist Arthur Migliazza, this multi-genre event celebrates the versatility and virtuosity of the piano. Both returning favorites, the two award-winning pianists will share the stage in genre-bending duo and solo performances, both composed and improvised. All Piano Showcase ticketholders are also invited to an interactive experience with the performers on the Tower stage the afternoon of March 16.

Sean Chen is a genius at displaying the virtuosity and versatility of the piano. An award-winning classical pianist (Cliburn International Piano Competition, American Pianists Awards), Chen is also in demand for creative collaborations and commissions. His exceptional transcriptions for the piano range from Beethoven’s 9th Symphony to video game music and everything in between. Chen’s musical flexibility is a perfect fit for this event’s emphasis on the uniqueness of blending genres. Currently Artist-in-Residence at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory, he continues to appear in solo and concerto performances throughout the United States and has been featured with the Sunriver Music Festival Orchestra several times.

Arthur Migliazza began playing the piano professionally at the age of 13 and quickly came under the wing of esteemed mentors/teachers such as Henry Butler, Ann Rabson and Mr. B. He has been inducted into the Arizona Blues Hall of Fame, was a finalist at the 2010 and 2014 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN, and in his 30+ years of performing has played on some of the world’s greatest stages, including Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow as part of the sold-out Kings of Boogie Tour, Birdland Jazz Club in New York City, Benaroya Hall in Seattle, as well as on National Public Radio in the US. Arthur was a featured performer at Sunriver Music Festival’s first three Piano Showcase events and his return for this 6th annual is greatly anticipated.

Help the Mastersingers get to Italy!

Central Oregon Mastersingers has been invited to sing in St. Peter's Basilica at The Vatican!

In this once in a lifetime experience, we'll sing music of Palestrina, Victoria, Monteverdi, and more at The Vatican on June 30, 2024. In order to facilitate this amazing trip, we're asking for support from our community.

Our goal is to raise $15,000. Will you help (Click to donate)?

WHY DONATE?

Singing at The Vatican is kind of like the Super Bowl of choir concerts. The fact that we have this opportunity is simply astounding! More than 30 members of Central Oregon Mastersingers will participate, and your donations will provide scholarships to a minimum of 10 singers who have asked for financial assistance.

The cost per person is $4,155, which includes airfare and accommodations for our 6 night trip to Rome and Sorrento. While on tour, Central Oregon Mastersingers will share their love of music with audiences in Sorrento and Rome, performing several "friendship" concerts with local choirs. And...we'll sing mass at St. Peter's Basilica for thousands of attendees and tourists from all over the world.UPDATE!!

We’ve already raised about $3,000. If we can get to $5,000, a local and enthusiastic supporter has agreed to donate $5,000!!
